About Cape Cod Wind and Weather
Cape Cod Wind and Weather, a family-owned business with deep roots in Cape Cod, has been crafting precision weather instruments since 1939. Our dedication to quality and craftsmanship has made us a trusted name in the industry for generations.
A Rich History
Our story began in 1939 when Aaron Davis and his son David, native Cape Codders with a passion for the sea, designed and began producing wind speed and direction indicators. These innovative instruments, previously only available to large institutions, were among the first to be made affordable for the general public.
Over the years, we’ve expanded our product line to include barometers, temperature indicators, rain gauges, tide clocks, and time clocks. Each instrument is meticulously handcrafted on Cape Cod using the finest materials and precision engineering.
In 2010, Cape Cod acquired Downeaster, a renowned manufacturer of weather instruments with a strong heritage in New England. This merger brought together two companies with a shared commitment to quality and tradition.
Our Product Lines
Today, we offer two distinct lines of weather instruments:
Cape Cod: Featuring a shallow profile and brushed aluminum faces, our Cape Cod line offers a modern and sleek aesthetic.
Downeaster: Inspired by a more nautical style, the Downeaster line features a deeper profile, white or blue faces, and polished brass or brushed nickel cases.
Our Commitment to Quality
Every Cape Cod and Downeaster instrument is backed by a limited warranty, ensuring your satisfaction for years to come. We are proud to continue the tradition of Yankee craftsmanship and invite you to become a part of our legacy.
